Present for Emma

My Julie's little girl Emma is the lucky recipient of this totally cool canvas. I had to wait until it reached Timaru before I could post this picture so that it would be a surprise.

I just love it! Ribbons, flowers, bling, pink! The perfect present for a perfect little girl, I can't wait to meet her.

New Books - Slinky Malinky

Yay!!!!!!!! New Books!!!!!!!!!


We love adding to our book collection and yesterday we bought 2 new Lynley Dodd books; Slinky Malinki, Open the Door and Slinky Malinki, Catflaps.


I am almost ashamed to admit that they are the first Lynley Dodd books to make it into our collection, I don't quite know how that happened, I guess sometimes we put off the obvious purhases!


Best news, they were on special! and they are totally cute mini hardbacks, 4 x 6 inches.




I was wrong! It is hard to admit and it doesn't happen very often but when I was putting the books away on the shelf I discovered that Lynley Dodd wrote The Nickle Nackle Tree and so the Slinki Malinki books aren't the first Lynley Dodd books we own, phew!

Vienna had her 3 month visit to Plunket yesterday and was pronounced to be ... PERFECT!

She flirted, got naked, got weighed (5.58kg), got measured, cried and got dressed.

She hits the middle of the charts for all her stats.

... with Pooh Bear. I bought this first Pooh Bear for Vienna when I went to Aussie to show my pregnant belly to Uncle Rob.
She is just starting to hold onto things, so it is time to start bringing out the toys YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Freestyle Cooking ...

... doesn't always turn out! I'm not going to embarrass myself by showing you a photo but I will share just one of the things I learnt yesterday: you can't add choc chips to the flour part of anzac bicuits and then add the warm golden syrup part - they melt! Choc anzac biscuits taste fantastic but they aren't the choc chip ones I intended to make.

Too Big?

It is so hard to believe that my little girl is getting too big for some of her clothes, how did that happen? how can that be? she is way too little to be too big for anything. Sad.

Did you know? ... they don't design or size baby clothes with cloth nappies in mind.

For Renee's Birthday

Still loving my bind it all! This little number is for my god fairy daughter Renee, she is turning seven at the end of the month.

I love how I can turn odds and ends of scrap paper into a cool personalised present.

Tiny Dinner

We all know that Miss Wendy loves little things ... well, tonight we had a little dinner:

little cheese scones (best, most simple recipe ever!) with little dot of freshly made tomato relish, little pork rissole, little slice of gerkin, half a little cherry tomato (grown by Miss Wendy).

You can tell by the pepper on the top that this was Ashley's plate (because we all know that Miss Wendy doesn't do pepper!) as I had already scoffed half of mine before I remembered to grab the camera.

For those of you who don't know, I have been back in hospital with my broken boob, I had to stay 3 nights this time and was sooooooo bored and totally over it!

Photo Shoot Friday - PM

On Friday afternoon we continued our photo shoot - Vienna had spit up all down her clothes and as it was so hot I hadn't put any more on yet. I think it looks so funny the way that the cloth nappy is soooo much bigger than the rest of her body.

Vienna hasn't been sleeping as long in the mornings this week - she doesn't seem to mind but it has been hard yakka for me! Yesterday morning we had a little photo shoot, I think she looks super cute in her nightie.

This was the last photo I took - I think it looks like she is checking her watching and saying 'OK time is up'.

Robert in Nimbin

Robert and his friend Oli in Nimbin, Australia. The skull was on the patterned paper and I drew over it in dimensional magic - and am totally stoked with how good it looks! In fact, I really like this page (it is a bit more red than brown in real life though).

Very cool present
